As a gateway to upper division literature and culture courses, intermediate language instruction presents a unique set of challenges, from minimizing disparities in students’ preparation and reinforcing essential grammatical structures, to choosing an appropriate text and improving language, tone and register in formal writing and oral expression. This presentation will discuss strategies for incorporating the technological tools already available on campus to fulfill learning outcomes at the intermediate level, facilitate language instruction and increase exposure to contemporary culture.
