Winter Quarter 2025

  • January 13 through March 13 (Fully open, including walk-in testing):
         M - Th:  8:00 AM - 8:00 PM
         Friday:  8:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Finals Week (3/17 to 3/21)

  • March 17 to March 21 (Fully open, including walk-in testing):
         M - Th:  8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
         Friday:  8:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Spring Break (3/24 - 3/28)

  • Monday 3/24 to Thursday 3/27: Open for testing by appointment only
    In-person Proficiency exams offered during break: Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Russian, or Spanish. Contact: ucdlc@ucdavis.edu or call 530-752-1508.  For testing in all other languages, please contact us after March 31st.
  • Friday, 3/28, University Closed for Cesar Chavez Day

Spring Quarter 2025

  • March 31 through May 2 (limited hours, but walk-in testing okay):

  • May 5 through June 6 (Fully open, including walk-in testing):

Note: Many of our Placement Exams are available 24/7 online, here. These free, online exams are only for information. They can be used to decide which class to take; however, they are not Proficiency Exams, and they do not count toward fulfilling your Foreign Language Requirements.

  • Olson 57 (27 Seats, Windows Computer Lab/Digital Listening Lab, Calendar)
  • Vocal Booths or Sound-Proof Rooms (Walk-in or By Appointment)
  • Olson 63 (Small Study or Research Room by Reservation)

Note: 18, 18A, 53A & 57 are not open for walk-ins when reserved for classes; please check their schedules by door or online calendars.
